Kathleen & Devon’s wedding on August 30th was the perfect start to our busy fall wedding season. Although it didn’t feel like fall quite yet, it was a gorgeous day to be married. It was the sweetest day; I think we were smiling all day behind our cameras.
Everything took place at The Farmhouse Weddings in Nappanee, Indiana. We instantly fell in love with this beautiful venue! They had a charming farmhouse where the girls got ready, and where Kathleen had an emotional first look with her Dad. Her Dad said, “You’re the prettiest bride I’ve seen in 28 years!” Kathleen’s parents were celebrating their wedding anniversary that day – how cool is that?!
The ceremony, which took place under a pavilion, was officiated by Devon’s dad. Kathleen & Devon wrote their own vows, which you’ll hear in the sneak peek. It was thundering in the distance during the ceremony, but thankfully the rain went around us. The sun peeked out in time for a few portraits and then the reception kicked off in the barn.
From the first dances to the toasts, it was a memorable night of celebrating. They even played the shoe game, which reminded us of our own wedding! The dance floor was full until it was time for Kathleen & Devon’s ribbon & bell send-off. After killing their getaway car just a couple times, Devon finally was able to drive away with his new bride.
It was such a peaceful night, with lightning in the distance and the twinkle of the globe lights hanging in the trees. We were honored to be a part of this special day. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Parker – we wish you the very best! 🙂
