Breanne and Drew had a destination wedding in Saugatuck, Michigan on October 11th. It was the prime time for fall colors in Pure Michigan – what could be more beautiful?! Drew’s family has always traveled to Saugatuck for their summer family vacation. Breanne fell in the love with the area too, and it became even more special to them when Drew proposed at Fennville Winery. They wanted to have their wedding in Saugatuck so all their friends and family could enjoy the area as well.
We were so excited to be invited to film their wedding. One of our past grooms, Cory, is Drew’s brother and their parents loved his video so much that they wanted to gift Drew & Bree with one as well. What a perfect wedding gift! We were honored to film another wedding in the family.
They had their ceremony at St. Peter’s Catholic Church at noon and then had several hours before cocktail hour began. Their schedule worked out perfectly because they had a lot of time to get portraits, and guests could do some sight-seeing in between the ceremony and reception. They took a party bus to Fennville Winery for most of their photos, and then Drew & Bree had a few portraits taken in downtown Saugatuck.
Their reception was at Saugatuck Center for the Arts, with cocktail hour and dinner outside in the pavilion and garden and dancing inside The Lobby. Their drinks and food sure didn’t disappoint – with beer from local breweries, a taco bar, and an ice cream bar, guests were well taken care of. In fact, I think dinner was one of my favorites at a wedding. They started dancing off by surprising their parents with their own first dances, since they never had one at their own weddings. It was SO sweet and thoughtful!
Their wedding was a perfectly planned and well-thought out day, completely laid back and enjoyable for all. It’s not very often that a wedding day feels so relaxed. Bree is an event planner, though, so I shouldn’t be surprised! 😉 It was such a pleasure to be a part of their day. Congratulations Drew & Bree, we wish you the very best!
