Allison & David were married on November 9th, 2013 at The Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown Indianapolis. We were really excited to film at this ornate, historic building for the first time. Their ceremony was in the theater and their reception was in the ballroom of the Scottish Rite. Mindy snuck in the ballroom to film as the sun was setting through the windows and it was absolutely gorgeous. Also, it’s worth mentioning that they got ready at The Omni – one of the best hotels for lots of light and awesome spiral staircases. 😉
Their wedding was traditional and elegant – and a joyful celebration. They were quite the stunning couple; David looked sharp in his army uniform and Allison looked like a bride straight out of a magazine. It was a chilly and windy day, but they braved the cold to get some awesome photos outside. It was our first time working with Eric Rudd, their photographer, and we were really impressed with his work (he shoots more film than digital!)
Allison’s brother officiated their ceremony, which makes it so much more personal and memorable! They danced the foxtrot for their first dance, which of course we loved (we also danced the foxtrot at our wedding.) It was also fun, when after their traditional cake cutting, David went and cut his groom’s cake with a saber. They had a delicious dinner, heartfelt toasts (Allison’s sister and brother made up a rap for their toast), and a full dance floor.
We’re so glad that we were able to meet this sweet couple and film their big day. Thank you, Allison & David, for entrusting us to capture your memories. We wish you a long and joyous life together! Congrats! 🙂
