Abbey & Billy’s Wedding

Abbey & Billy had a Great Gatsby themed wedding at the Indiana Historical Society in downtown Indianapolis on July 18, 2015. The beautiful bride wore a champagne dress and her bridesmaids wore long, black dresses. The guys also fit the roaring twenties look with tuxes. Eli Lilly Hall was transformed into a scene from the movie. With professional lighting, an ice sculpture, and a gorgeous cake and flowers, the room was fit for a big celebration. The grand entrance was exactly that – grand – with the guys and girls coming down the staircase to meet.

It was one of the hottest days of the summer, but once they saw each other for the first time that day, nothing else mattered. They had their ceremony out on the Stardust Terrace, right along the canal. Their best man also played the role as the officiant, and it couldn’t have been a more personal ceremony. The two exchanged both traditional vows and also sweet vows that they wrote for each other.

Abbey’s dad unexpectedly passed away just a few months before the wedding. It broke my heart when I found out because I also lost my Dad way too young. They did an amazing job of honoring him that day though. Abbey & her mom were right in saying that he had the best seat in the house that day – looking down from Heaven. For the father-daugther dance, Abbey invited any special guy in her life up to dance with her. There were also photos of Abbey & her Dad at each table. Those were just a few beautiful ways that they honored him.

After dinner, cake, toasts, & dancing, the night ended with a sparkler send-off and the couple riding away in a black 1936 Cadillac. What could’ve been more perfect than that to top off the night?! Congratulations Abbey & Billy! We wish you two a joyful life together as Mr. & Mrs. Hall.
